Beach Plans

I miss the beach. I’m a water baby and I need to be around water to feel safe and secure in my life.

This summer I want to spend at least a full week at a beach. Preferably on the Gulf of Mexico, although the Atlantic Ocean would do.

The best way to spend time at the beach is in a full service hotel that is right on the beach. Book a room with a beachfront view of the water. And a tiki bar at the hotel pool makes it even nicer.

Ready to Fish

I’m heading out this weekend for my first fishing day. The weather has not been good for fishing on the weekends, and I can’t get away during the week until later this summer. So I’m going to have to buy my fishing license and maybe a few things for my gear, and I’m ready to find a good spot on Saturday unless we get more bad weather.

Who P O’d Mother Nature?

As a kid we would hear the folks say that they were “P O’d” when they were in polite company. At home they would just be “Pissed Off.”

Well, I’m thinking someone has pissed off Mother Nature because this weather is just not right. Houston and New Orleans are getting snow today. That is just not normal. It’s cold here, too. The forecast for the next week is cold and wet. That’s great – if you are a duck.

Too Cold for Golf

This week we have a cold front of artic air battering the area and it is too cold to play golf. This is a little early for the really cold weather, but then this year has been mild and wonderful up until now. So I suppose we have to pay our dues.

I hope to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and do some yard work. We have about a dozen large bags of leaves that need raking and dragging to the curb before they get too wet. It’s easier to rake and drag tree limbs around when the air is brisk.
