Can I Trade Monday?

return mondays

The only good Mondays are the ones that are part of a 3 day weekend. I wish we always had Monday off – they would be easier to deal with from home. I think we need more 3 day weekends anyway.

Pickin at Leftovers

Our Thanksgiving meal was very tasty and I’m glad we had some leftovers. That means I don’t have to worry about cooking for a couple of days. I can just pick at leftovers and have plenty of food without the bother of a full meal.

I had a 22 pound turkey plus a small ham for our dinner on Thursday. Some of that is left, but even better is all the side dishes and desserts that are left. I enjoyed a slice of cherry pie for breakfast. Yes, being a grownup is a good thing!

Groceries for Turkey Day

Today is going to be a busy one and I have to get my groceries for Thanksgiving. This year we are gathering a few family members and several friends together for a big meal. Most of the friends are here as either new to the area, newly divorced, or people with no family to include them. I think Thanksgiving is about sharing what you have and being with people you care about. So that’s our plan and today I have to get the turkey. Wish me luck, and hope you have a nice Thanksgiving.

Movie Marathon

This weekend I’m hitting Redbox and renting at least four movies. I need a movie marathon – a day of nothing but good action movies and no one bothering me. After Thanksgiving, I won’t have much time for movies, so this is my last harrah for movies. Then it’s all about shopping, decorating and holiday parties until January 2.

Good Times

This past weekend was really nice. We had a lot of family activities and meals planned around the holiday. I think my favorite was the huge picnic at the Lake yesterday. I never saw so much good food on two tables in my life! We had everything from hot dogs and hamburgers to hot wings and spare ribs. We had corn, potato salad, baked beans, and all kinds of different cakes and pies and two big watermelons on ice. Wow – that was feast, ya’ll, and total proof that my family can cook.
