No Coffee – It’s an Emergency!

Coffeemaker broke this morning. It didn’t have the decency to make my morning pot of coffee before breaking. It broke as I was closing the lid over the coffee filter. So no coffee for me this morning. It’s going to be a very long day.

If you ever have a bout with insomnia and need something to do, turn on CBS and watch the old reruns of the Star Trek series. What is running right now is the Star Trek – The Next Generation series, with Captain Piccard.

It is amazing to realize that this series came out over 20 years ago. Can we really be that old?

Toss the Tomatoes

Well, looks like all the tomato plants I bought this year got that fungus that I read about. It seems that every tomato plant sold by all the big outlets like Home Depot, KMart, Lowes and Target were infected with the fungus at the nursery or wholesalers before being shipped. The fungus has slowly killed each plant. I cut down each plant and tossed them in the trash can. So no tomatoes in my garden this year.

Funny how the real story behind the news flashes can change dramatically by the time all the facts come out. Especially the body counts on big disasters.

Yesterday they talked about a fisherman finding a leg in a lake. Then it became the river. Then it became a leg bone. Now it turns out that an old Indian burial ground was washed away in a flash flood from all the rain. The bone is supposedly hundreds of years old from an Indian.

Right.

More Than the Money

What some people may not realize is that a job is more than just the money. For a lot of people, a job gives them a reason to get up each morning, a sense of purpose. The fortunate ones are the workers who truly love what they do every day. That is why a pink slip can be so devastating. It is more than just the money.

This pretty little lady from Texas is a real heartbreaker. She has been singing and dancing for a couple of years, and she sure has been easy on the eyes. But the photo being shown today of her recent weight gain is really upsetting.

I guess deep down she is just another fat old lady just waiting to bust out of that pretty young girls body. What a shame.

NyQuil

I’m so grateful for NyQuil these past couple of nights, I seem to be coming down with some type of head cold. I did the usual and had my flu shot this year ,so I should be protected from that burden, but there has been several people in my neighborhood that have been home on sick leave, so I shouldn’t be too surprised that some type of bug with an attitude would find it’s way to me at some point.

Between the Night Time NyQuil and the Tylenol, I have been able to deal with it. I’m just hoping that it doesn’t progress any worse, that would make for a horrible holiday experience to deal with.
