Some of the best deals are two-fers of BOGOs. But when you are a single guy, it makes it hard to take advantage of them. Most of the time I really only need or want one. So getting two isn’t a savings when I have no use for it. Of course I could find a way to donate some thing, but some stuff, like two sub sandwiches for the price of one, just doesn’t work out.

Have you ever done something with the thought that you were paying it forward? Doing a nice thing for a person with no expectation of anything in return?
I paid for the lunch of the car behind me at Wendy’s today. I asked the cashier how much was their lunch and it was only about $12. I gave her the money for my chicken sandwich and their lunch, then drove away before they could find out or thank me. It felt good!

What a nice surprise to come home and find a basket of baked goodies on my kitchen table. April brought me the cookies and fresh bread and left a little note that she thought I needed some fussing over. Isn’t that sweet? Of course, I’ll welcome some fussing over – especially when it tastes so good! Sorry that I was not at home when she stopped by. Now I’ll have to find a way to thank her properly and let her know that she’s a great baker.

Took my sister, Alicia, and her kids up to the Golden Arches for lunch as a treat.The kids got Happy Meals and we each got a Big Mac on sale for 99 cents.
She hasn’t got much money for eating out since she got laid off right before Christmas. We hear the plant may open up again this fall. Sure hope so – there’s a whole lot of people needing work and got bills to pay.

Lately I have been craving something sweet after dinner. I don’t know why this is happening. I almost never ate desert when we were growing up, and after I got married the wife was always worrying about losing weight and being on a diet. So the only sweets I got was what I bought at the convenience store while running errands. Now that the wife is gone, I can eat cake if I want it. And I want it!
